Features
A WordPress plugin that handles catalogue, stock, pricing, booking and payment. Everything is configured from the admin, without touching code.
Catalogue and stock
Every bookable product has its own public, indexable page with a “Book” button.
- Stock per product type, computed in real time for the requested dates: no day-by-day availability records to maintain
- Categories to organise and filter the catalogue, independent of stock and prices
- Product, catalogue and category pages, editable in the block editor
- Season opening window enforced server-side
- Billing per day (pick-up and return included) or per night (hotel model)
Pricing
The price of a booking is always computed and re-checked by the server, never by the browser.
- Reusable rate grids: one rate per duration
- Periods (seasons) that select the applicable grid, with product, then category, then default priority
- Stays spanning several periods split and priced segment by segment
- Period discounts as a percentage or an amount, subject to early booking and a minimum duration; struck-through price shown to the customer
- “From” prices in the catalogue and a public rate table via shortcode
Cart and options
Customers build their booking freely, with no imposed bundle.
- Generic cart options: label, pricing mode, detail text
- Options linked to a catalogue product, with truly shared stock
- Damage cover at each product’s own daily rate (“x €/day i.e. y €”)
- Packs with components the customer can remove, price adjusted automatically
- Optional per-person profile (height, weight, shoe size…) to prepare equipment
Booking flow
A three-step journey: selection, details, checkout.
- Catalogue browsable before choosing dates
- Confirmation window before each add-to-cart; “Cancel” never changes the cart
- Change dates without losing the cart, prices recalculated instantly
- Date widget to place on any page to open the booking flow
- Responsive and touch-friendly on mobile
Online payment
A booking is confirmed only once the bank has confirmed the payment.
- Systempay payment (Banque Populaire, Caisse d’Épargne)
- Confirmation only by the bank’s server-to-server notification, idempotent processing
- Unique booking reference, used in emails, customer account, back office and export
- HTML booking voucher emailed to the customer, notification to the shop
- Declined or cancelled payment: can be retried while the booking is pending
Customer account
Customers find their bookings without registering beforehand.
- WordPress customer account created or matched automatically on booking
- Password set by the customer through the standard WordPress reset
- Details prefilled on the next booking
- Booking history and profile completion
Back office
Day-to-day management, inside the WordPress admin.
- Bookings: list filtered by rental dates, detail view, per-customer view
- Booking schedule
- Statistics broken down by rental days
- CSV export
- Tabbed settings: site, SEO, booking, cart, payment
- Demo data sets: ski, mountain bike, hotel, campsite, event
Multilingual and integration
Plug & Rent fits into your theme without modifying it.
- Interface shipped in French and English; bilingual site with Polylang
- Gutenberg blocks and shortcodes: booking flow, customer account, book button, rate table, season dates
- Versioned REST API for custom integrations
- WooCommerce possible as a showcase: the product page links to the booking flow
Personal data
A configurable retention period, applied automatically.
- Configurable retention period (5 years after the end of rental by default)
- Daily purge: anonymisation (statistics kept) or deletion
- Removal of inactive customer accounts, other roles untouched
Technical requirements: WordPress 6.4 or later, PHP 8.1 or later.
